PC Jeweller shares rose up to 5.6% on Thursday, 3 September 2026, after the company told the exchanges it had fully repaid a ninth consortium bank and cleared over 96% of the dues owed to the remaining five lenders.
What the exchange filing said
In a filing to the BSE and NSE on 3 September 2026, PC Jeweller Ltd said it has cleared and repaid the entire outstanding debt of one more bank under its Settlement Agreement dated 30 September 2024.
With this payment, nine of the 14 banks in its lending consortium have now been fully repaid. The company said every one of these repayments was made ahead of the scheduled due date.
For the five banks still on the books, PC Jeweller said it has already discharged more than 96% of the outstanding amount. Less than 4% is left.
The company stated it remains on track to clear this balance and become debt-free within September itself, which it said would materially strengthen its balance sheet and financial position.
A consortium here simply means a group of banks that jointly lent money to the company under one shared agreement, rather than each bank lending separately.
How the stock moved on Thursday
PC Jeweller opened at ₹10.21 on the BSE against the previous close of ₹10.18. It went on to touch an intraday high of ₹10.75, a gain of 5.6% for the session.
At around 2:30 PM IST, the stock was trading near ₹10.63 on the NSE, up roughly 4.4% from Wednesday's close.
Even after Thursday's move, the stock trades well below its 52-week high of ₹15.38, recorded on 17 September 2025. Its 52-week low is ₹7.47, hit on 30 March 2026.
Anyone tracking such single-day moves in real time would need a demat account and a trading account with a SEBI-registered broker, since shares can only be held in dematerialised form in India.
The road from ₹4,100 crore
PC Jeweller's debt problem is not new. Its stressed loan account with the consortium stood at close to ₹4,100 crore as on 31 March 2024.
The company signed a one-time settlement agreement with the 14-bank consortium, led by State Bank of India, on 30 September 2024. That agreement set out how the dues would be repaid bank by bank.
Since then, the company has been announcing clearances in stages. The pace over the last six weeks has been notably quick:
| Date of exchange update | Banks fully repaid |
| 22 July 2026 | 5 of 14 |
| August 2026 (with Q1 FY27 results) | 7 of 14 |
| 19 August 2026 | 8 of 14 |
| 3 September 2026 | 9 of 14 |
One detail worth noting: in its 19 August filing, the company said it aimed to be debt-free "within the current quarter". Thursday's filing narrows that to the current month.
What a debt-free balance sheet would change
For a company that has carried a large stressed loan for years, clearing it removes the interest cost attached to that borrowing. Money that went to servicing loans can instead go into inventory, showrooms or working capital.
It also changes how lenders and suppliers view the company. A settled account is generally easier to work with than a restructured one.
PC Jeweller began in 2005 with a single showroom in Karol Bagh, New Delhi. It now runs jewellery showrooms across 42 cities and 14 states, with a growing focus on diamond jewellery.

The earnings backdrop
The debt news comes after a strong June quarter. For Q1 FY27 (April–June 2026), PC Jeweller reported consolidated net profit of about ₹222 crore, up around 37% from ₹161.93 crore in the year-ago quarter.
Revenue from operations rose about 21% year-on-year to roughly ₹877 crore. Operating EBITDA profit before interest, tax, depreciation and amortisation climbed about 90% to ₹242 crore from ₹127 crore.
EBITDA is a rough measure of how much the core business earns before financing and accounting costs are deducted. A sharp jump here alongside falling debt is what the market has been reacting to.
What to watch in September
The single thing to watch now is whether the remaining under-4% is cleared before 30 September 2026, and whether the company files a confirmation to that effect with the exchanges.
Also worth watching is the September quarter (Q2 FY27) result, which will show how much interest cost has actually come off the books, and how the festive-season demand played out for the jewellery business.
